Sprinkle some stardusts

Yvaine & Tristan evading the powers of Lamia.

Last weekend I finally turned couch potato and watched the movie "Stardust". I had heard rave reviews about this fantasy movie. So, it came to no surprise that I actually enjoyed the movie to bits and am berating myself for not watching it earlier. It was marvelous to see beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer as Lamia turning into an ugly old witch with warts and wrinkly face, Robert De Niro as Captain Shakespeare playing a pirate who collects lightnings on a ship that flies in the skies and who loves to dress himself in cute frilly dresses, Claire Danes as Yvaine playing the star who got hit by a huge magical locket and landed on earth as a girl who shines (as she is the star) whenever she is happy, Charlie Cox as Tristan and the main actor who turned out in the end to be the ruler of Stormhold (this is actually predictable) and falls in love with Yvaine and there is even Sienna Miller and Ricky Gervais in the casts. Plus there is these ghosts who are dead princes that have to stay behind unless a king is found for Stormhold. So, once another prince is killed, they will join these ghosts and watch the remaining princes tries to catch hold of the locket to gain the crown for Stormhold. I like the princes names, Septimus, Primus, Tertius, Secundus, Sextus, Quartus, Quintus, all seven of them. One actually died while he was having his bath, so was parading around as a ghost with appropriate cloth or other apparatus covering his hoo hoo.
All in all it was an entertaining movie with appropriate comedy inserted in the unexpected places considering it's a fantasy movie, I never expected much comedy in it.

Ohh... Michelle Pfeiffer as the witch was after Claire Danes as the star who has a heart that provide whoever that eats it with immortality and youth and beauty. Michelle Pfeiffer as the witch rocks!!! I wish I had her powers. I liked the part when she was losing her beauty and she was trying to use her power to zap her boobs to look perkier when instead it sags even more!! Funneee.

New cat pics

Yoda and his girlfriend, Tipah. The two of them are mostly together all the time, being the ones that entered the household together about the same time.

Yoda sitting neatly. He loves to sit in this position with front paws crossed neatly. It makes him look so polite when I know that deep down inside he is plotting his next move to ransack the place where we store the fishes for his food. I know you too well, Yoda!!!

Hitam on a ledge. This is quite a precarious position for Hitam as the crows alway attack him when he is sitting on a ledge. I think the crows are jealous that Hitam has got a healthy coat of very black lucious fur.

Incoming and Outgoing

Friends come and go. In fact, today, I believe I lost a friend that I just got to know last year or so. Oh, well... Que sera sera.
However, I am happy to report that a very old friend came into my life recently. This is a friend that was with me when I was then green and blue and all other colours of the rainbow behind the ears. I was then the girl with the pig tails and no sense of fashion (not that I have much of those nowadays). We were room mates when we were studying in college. However, she left to continue her studies overseas and I still had to finish mine at the college. So, as the story goes, we lost touch. There was no handphones then. In fact, I think I only started to use the handphone after I finished my undergraduate studies. E-mails are also hard to access as we did not have our own laptops then. We did however write letters to each other at the beginning but that kinda fades out as well. I am not much of a letter person anyways.
But as fate would have it, on chance I saw her sister while having breakfast with my parents one fine weekend. I was eating not to my hearts content as the food was not that glorious, but I felt behind my head that somebody was looking at me. I thought she was mistaking me for somebody because for the life of me I can't remember her. However, this sister of her came over to where me and my parents were having breakfast and introduced herself. Then, recognition sparked in me. I'm hopeless in this - remembering people. Actually, I can sometimes remember the faces of people from my past who I haven't met for the longest time, but their names always escape me... With my friend however, after the recognition in me of her sister, we established contact and we lifted off!!!
So, incoming or outgoing, I welcome everybody in my life. It adds curry. It adds salt and sugar. It adds chilli. It adds garlic and onions and also it adds 'belacan' to my life.
Anyways, on a different tangent, I am elated, sad and happy (I don't think one person can have all these emotions at one time but somehow I do, it's all mashed up into one big giant feelings) that the fav reality race show has come to an end. I can't wait for the next installment.
Congrats to the Malaysian team. Gal power rules!
Good work to the Singaporean team.
Oppss to the Philipines team. I'm not great with flags either.
But the race goes to show that fate and luck can change almost without any notice and can overturn 360 degrees towards another end. Nothing is 100% certain!!!
Yup, this also goes in line with my incoming and outgoing theme. Nothing is constant, things are always changing.
